The firewalls on the Xp clients are off, due to the GPO. But I cannot view system inventory on the XP clients

Most probably RPC ports are unavailable on the computer. System Information uses WMI, which requires RPC ports. Just recently we had a case when a customer disabled the firewall on his network via GPO, and he was able to access most of his computers...but few of them refused to accept RPC connections. Unfortunately no one was able to figure out why.
But anyway, double check if the computers in question are cacheable via WMI/RPC, most probably they are not.

The problem isn't that I cannot connect. I can connect to all the computers I need to. However, the XP clients are not allowing the access to all the functionality. When I request System Information I get this error... The connection to XXXXXXXXX could not be established. Check to see that the network path name is correct, that you have sufficient permission to access Windows Management Instrumentation, and that the Windows Management Instrumentation service is started on the computer. Just wondering if anyone knows what I need to change on the XP clients to allow this to work. Thanks
